IRS Dance Video Takes the Disgust for Agency to Another Level

The newly released IRS dance video has already begun to raise the disgust for the IRS to a whole new level. This time the heat is coming down on the agency not for despotically targeting groups and individuals who oppose the president’s ideology, but for getting its groove on to the “Cupid Shuffle” on the taxpayers’ dime.

House Ways and Means Committee Republicans on Friday evening released an IRS dance video, which shows agency employees line dancing to singer Cupid’s “down, down, do your dance.” The IRS took the video for entertainment purposes at a 2010 agency conference in Anaheim, California.

In other words, just as American citizens were frightfully pulling their hair out and losing sleep at night wondering how they would deal with the IRS, the bureaucrats were having a grand ole time on the same dollar earned by the taxpayers they were harassing.

The release of the video comes just days before the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration — the watchdog that uncovered IRS employees were targeting conservative groups — is set to release a report entitled, “Collected and Wasted: The IRS Spending Culture and Conference Abuses,” which is not going to go over well for the already scandal-plagued IRS.

The new acting IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel obviously has his hands full already, and rightfully so, saying that the report will highlight “an unfortunate vestige from a prior era.” On the issue of the IRS dance video incident, he said:

Sweeping new spending restrictions have been put in place at the IRS, and travel and training expenses have dropped more than 80 percent since 2010 and similar large-scale meetings did not take place in 2011, 2012 or 2013.

Simply unbelievable, and it would be funny if it wasn’t for the many lives these people intended to ruin.
