Senator Rand Paul, the Kentucky Republican seen and heard in the video above, is a rising hero to libertarians and small-government conservatives.
It turns out that the government employee of the I.R.S. — who will not testify, who will not help out with the hearings — it turns out she’s been doing this for decades. She was at the FEC telling Republican candidates that ‘you need to quit and we’ll leave you alone. But you need to never run for office again.’ She’s been using this bully-nature of government and we’re sick and tired of government bullies, and we need to send them home.
More On The IRS Tea Party Protest Today
Tea Party and other anti-tax protesters staged a large rally at the U.S. Capitol Wednesday to highlight their grievances against the Internal Revenue Service. The speakers at the rally described as an intrusive, overreaching federal government that needs to be reigned.
The rally comes amid multiple active probes into the recent Obama scandals regarding the IRS improper targeting of conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status by IRS officials not-yet known, and the question of “who” in the Obama administration knew about the targeting was at the forefront of the discussion.
Rep. Michele Bachmann, Minnesota Republican and a former IRS lawyer, asked the crowd:
Don’t you love the look of liberty? In my former life, I actually was an insurgent, because I believe if you understand the enemy from the inside out that’s the best way to defeat them.
Rep. Steve King, Iowa Republican, said it’s not even the government’s business how much money average Americans make.
Other speakers included Rep. Jim Jordan, Ohio Republican and former chairman of the conservative Republican Policy Committee, Rep. Louie Gohmert, Texas Republican, and firebrand radio host Glenn Beck.
