President Barack Obama will give his farewell address Tuesday night in his adopted hometown of Chicago, where nearly 4,000 have been killed during his presidency. As a matter of statistical data, the city of Chicago is basically the murder capitol of the U.S. and definitely more dangerous than war-torn Afghanistan.

In all of 2015, there were 2,843 people shot across 2,327 shootings. By September 2016, 2,848 people had been killed or wounded in 2,318 shootings. In 2016, homicides have already passed previous figures, increasing from 496 in 2015 to 762 in 2016.

“Chicago is where I grew up. It’s where I met my husband. It’s where we started our family and where we began our journey to becoming your First Family, which has been the honor of our lifetimes,” Michelle Obama said in a statement touting her husa. And tomorrow, I’m going back to Chicago to watch Barack deliver his farewell address to you. And together, we’ve made so much progress.”

Not in their hometown.

In the 8 years since her husband was sworn into office on Jan. 20, 2009, a whopping 3,930 people have been killed, the vast majority being black men killed by guns. That’s despite Chicago’s strict laws targeting all types of firearms and My Brother’s Keeper, a program meant to help black youth in impoverished regions launched by the president in 2014.

But since it’s launch, the program has proven to be little more than a token gesture. The murder rate in the city is by far the highest in the black community. For every 1,000,000 living in Chicago in 2015, a stunning 46.52 lives were snuffed out. Research from the Children’s Hospital of Chicago found the homicide rate for young adults between the ages of 20 to 24 increased from 43 victims per 100,000 in 2010 to 64 per 100,000 in 2015.

In 2016, 90% of all murders in Chicago involved firearms, representing a 3% increase over 2015. Chicago police also confiscated 8,300 illegal guns in the city, which is a 20 percent increase over 2015.

The state of Illinois lost 37,508 residents in 2016, alone. The population in The Land of Lincoln is now at its lowest level since 2009, People’s Pundit Daily recently reported.

Several crimes in Chicago have garnered national attention, including the latest involving 4 black teenagers and young adults who kidnapped and subsequently tortured a white metnally handicapped man who they believed voted for President-elect Donald Trump.
