“Obviously, I know the president pretty well, and I know the attorney general very well, and he will be in his position for quite a while,” Valerie Jarrett said in the video.
Rest assure, that this was discussed and Jarrett is in lockstep with both President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder. If nothing else, Obama has a “hold the line” team in which deviating from the script is not tolerated.
In the Obama administration the ability to keep in lockstep is a prerequisite consideration above character and competence, as Barack Obama has little problem with appointing people lacking either – Susan Rice.
Throughout the latest Obama scandals, Jarrett has been quite hidden, and as Pat Caddell criticized, sure needs a lot of security for someone as low-profile at first-glance as she is. But obviously, on the surface can be misleading, and this woman exemplifies that this is the case in the White House. The New York Times once pointed out:
His saving grace through years of controversies has been the friendship of two women close to Mr. Obama. Valerie Jarrett, the president’s senior adviser, grew close to Mr. Holder during the 2008 campaign and, as one former Obama adviser put it, “was always his protector” inside the White House.
After shaking off the speculation over Mrs. Obama’s take on this relationship, it becomes apparent that Jarrett is more than President Obama’s protector in the White House, and Holder is obviously the shield Jarrett uses to put in front of the president when he is taking hostile fire.
It would not surprise me in the least to find out years from now when the White House tapes become public that the trifecta of scandals – and indeed there is more – was directed by Jarrett to intentionally insulate President Obama. Nevertheless, she makes it crystal clear in this video that she has not lost her purpose for that shield, thus Holder stays – “for quite a while.”
