Saving the American Dream

Although the study is some 50 plus pages, it is worth taking the time to read through. Can a flat-tax become a reality? The former Soviet Union, whom of which had an incredibly inefficient tax policy, instituted a flat-tax upon the fall of the communist regime – or rather they voted themselves out of power. Opponents of a flat-tax often cite unfairness, budgetary deficits, and so on, as reasons to not institute a flat-tax in American.

However, the policy study from Heritage argues that not only can a flat-tax remain relatively revenue neutral, but can actually “starve the beast” and prevent draconian future tax increases to pay for wasteful government spending.
