Saving the American Dream is the one plan that will balance America’s budget—once and for all. From entitlements to tax reform to government spending, it tackles the big problems. Together, we can change the status quo in Washington.
Although the study is some 50 plus pages, it is worth taking the time to read through. Can a flat-tax become a reality? The former Soviet Union, whom of which had an incredibly inefficient tax policy, instituted a flat-tax upon the fall of the communist regime – or rather they voted themselves out of power. Opponents of a flat-tax often cite unfairness, budgetary deficits, and so on, as reasons to not institute a flat-tax in American.
However, the policy study from Heritage argues that not only can a flat-tax remain relatively revenue neutral, but can actually “starve the beast” and prevent draconian future tax increases to pay for wasteful government spending.
