Poland Prime Minister Beata Szydlo easily survived a no-confidence vote in parliament on Thursday called by the opposition. Under her leadership, the former Eastern Block state once firmly behind the Iron Curtain has led the charge to reform the European Union (EU) and, unsurprisingly, it has made her a lot of enemies.

Still, lawmakers voted 239 – 168, with 17 abstentions, to defeat a motion called by the opposition party Civic Platform to oust Prime Minister Szydlo’s government. Painted as a centrist party, the pro-EU opposition alleged the Law and Justice Party (PiS) has passed new laws that they say are anti-democratic.

But most recognize that charge to be an excuse for the real reason — distancing Poland from the EU.

“Jaroslaw Kaczynski, the head of PiS and shadow-leader of the Polish state, also may want a different individual to deal with the challenges faced by the aggressive tactics of the European Union against Poland,” foreign correspondents at Tsarizm.com reported. “More information could come out later today as party leaders meet into the night to discuss Szydlo’s future.”

While there have been rumors the leaders of the PiS would like to see her replaced by finance minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, the outcome of the vote was never in question. The PiS, led by Jaroslaw Kaczynski, has a majority in parliament.

Brussels threatened Poland with legal action if they did not agree to commit cultural suicide by letting in hundreds of thousands of “refugees” from the Middle East.

Bruce G. Ohr, a senior official at the Justice Department (DOJ), has been demoted amid revelations he met with the smear firm behind the fake Trump dossier. Mr. Ohr was the associate deputy attorney general and director of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF).

While he maintains his title at OCDETF, Mr. Ohr was stripped of associate deputy attorney general after it was revealed he met with Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson shortly after the presidential election. No concrete date was given, but the meeting occurred sometime around Thanksgiving 2016 and it was facilitated by Christopher Steele.

He has been ousted from his office on the fourth floor of “Main Justice.”

DOJ officials initially would not provide a reason for Mr. Ohr’s demotion. However, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI), led by Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., discovered evidence tying Ohr to Simpson, as well Steele.

“It is unusual for anyone to wear two hats as he has done recently. This person is going to go back to a single focus—director of our organized crime and drug enforcement unit,” a Justice Department official told Fox News. “As you know, combating transnational criminal organizations and drug trafficking is a top priority for the attorney general.”

Simpson, a former journalist at The Wall Street Journal, hired Steele, a former MI6 British Intelligence Officer, to gather research resulting in the discredited “Trump dossier,” otherwise known as the “Steele dossier.” After a year of denying the allegations, a bombshell report recently revealed that the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) paid more than $10 million to fund the dossier.

The nonprofit Campaign Legal Center (CLC) filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) alleging both the Clinton campaign and the DNC violated campaign finance law by failing to accurately disclose payments for the discredited dossier.

Mr. Steele, who notably was the former head of the Russian desk at MI6, almost exclusively used sources linked to the Kremlin and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The dossier was published by Buzzfeed News in January, a move that was widely criticized in journalistic circles. But Democrats had been widely circulating the material for months beforehand knowing it contained unverified allegations.

The contacts between Ohr and Steele, and between Ohr and Simpson, have not been publicly disclosed nor shared with HPSCI staff.

As People’s Pundit Daily (PPD) previously reported, Fusion GPS has been less than cooperative with both the House and Senate committees investigating their role in what appears more likely to be a smear campaign. In a 10-hour long interview with the Senate Judiciary Committee, Simpson refused to answer lawmakers’ questions.

Congressional sources told PPD Simpson and his lawyer Josh Levy provided thousands of “disrespectful” records to the committee, being that most were blank or press clippings. He also wanted an assurance the transcript would be kept “confidential,” and only made public after they reviewed it for accuracy and redactions were made.

Newly filed court documents may indicate why.

Fusion GPS paid at least three journalists between June 2016 until February 2017, according to the filing. The three journalists — while unnamed — are known for reporting on “Russia issues relevant to [the committee’s] investigation.”

Worth noting, Bill Browder, the CEO and co-founder of Hermitage Capital, said during sworn testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee in July that he suspects Fusion GPS gives “incentives” to journalists who push stories for their “smear campaigns.” The firm was hired by Kremlin allies to conduct a smear campaign against Sergei Magnitsky and Mr. Browder before congressional hearings on the Global Magnitsy Act.

The development surrounding Mr. Ohr comes after another top investigator on the Democrat-dominated team assembled by Special Counsel Robert Mueller III was fired over the summer before it could be revealed he was sending anti-Trump texts to another government lawyer, with whom he was having an affair.

Peter Strzok not only oversaw the interview with Lt. General Michael Flynn that resulted in charges of lying to federal agents but also of Hillary Clinton, which did not. Lisa Page, the lawyer having an affair with Mr. Strzok on the other end of his anti-Trump messages, was also hired by the special counsel. She has subsequently departed the team in the hope to avoid these revelations.

PPD has also confirmed that Mr. Strzok played a key role in changing the memo drafted by fired former FBI director James Comey to exonerate Mrs. Clinton. The language was amendment to change “gross negligence” to “extreme carelessness” to describe her handling of the classified information.

Mr. Strzok was removed before the texts were made public, as was his mistress Ms. Page. He not only oversaw the interview with Lt. General Michael Flynn that resulted in charges of lying to federal agents but also of Hillary Clinton, which did not.

Secretary Rex W. Tillerson said the State Department will “immediately” begin “preparations to move the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.”

In a statement to People’s Pundit Daily (PPD) following President Donald J. Trump’s “historic decision” to “officially recognize” Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, Secretary Tillerson said the move “aligns U.S. presence with the reality that Jerusalem is home to Israel’s legislature, Supreme Court, President’s office, and Prime Minister‘s office.”

“We have consulted with many friends, partners, and allies in advance of the President making his decision,” Mr. Tillerson said. “We firmly believe there is an opportunity for a lasting peace.”

The President’s decision not only fulfills a major campaign promise to religious conservatives and the vast majority of Americans who support Israel but also a 22-year old national promise to the Israelis.

Before of the announcement Wednesday, President Trump on Tuesday spoke with Palestinian President Mahmood Abbas, Jordanian King Abdullah and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

He said during a speech in the Diplomatic Reception Room of the White House on Wednesday that recognition and relocation was “long overdue” and “the right thing to do.”

In 1995, Congress passed The Jerusalem Embassy and Relocation Act, which recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and called for moving the U.S. Embassy. Waivers are permitted by presidents in the event national security is a concern, which President Trump signed in June.

“As the President said in his remarks today, ‘Peace is never beyond the grasp of those willing to reach it,'” Secretary Tillerson added. “The State Department will immediately begin the process to implement this decision by starting the preparations to move the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.”

A White House official said Tuesday that the President will still have to sign a waiver in order to preserve funding to the State Department, while the relocation process begins. Secretary Tillerson stressed that it was necessary to ensure the safety of foreign service personnel at the department.

“The safety of Americans is the State Department’s highest priority,” he said, adding “in concert with other federal agencies, we’ve implemented robust security plans to protect the safety of Americans in affected regions.”

As PPD has previously reported, President Trump and his administration have been much more pro-Israel than his predecessors. While the Obama Administration had been working with the United Nations (UN) against or to punish the key U.S. ally in the region, the Trump Administration has done just the opposite.

In October, President Trump announced he had withdrawn the U.S. from UNESCO, citing badly-needed reforms and a continued anti-Israel bias. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has long been under fire for exposed corruption and bias that continues to go unaddressed.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised U.S. President Donald Trump for his “historic decision” to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. President Trump said it was “long overdue” and “the right thing to do,” along with ordering the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv to move to Jerusalem.

“It’s rare to be able to speak of new and genuine milestones in the glorious history of this city, that today’s pronouncement by President Trump is such an occasion,” Prime Minister Netanyahu said. “We’re profoundly grateful for the president, for his courageous and just position to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and to prepare for the opening of the U.S. Embassy here.”

The decision not only fulfills a major campaign promise to religious conservatives and the vast majority of Americans who support Israel but also a 22-year old national promise to the key ally.

In 1995, Congress passed The Jerusalem Embassy and Relocation Act, which recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and called for moving the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Waivers are permitted by presidents in the event national security is a concern, which President Trump signed in June.

President Trump said during a speech in the Diplomatic Reception Room of the White House on Wednesday that “Jerusalem is not just the heart of three great religions, but it is now also the heart of one of the most successful democracies in the world.”

“This decision reflects the president’s commitment to an ancient but enduring truth, to fulfilling his promises and to advancing peace. The president’s decision is an important step towards peace, for there is no peace that doesn’t include Jerusalem as the capital of the state of Israel.”

Prime Minister Netanyahu called on other nations to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and move their embassies, as well.

“I share President Trump’s commitment to advancing peace between Israel and all of our neighbors, including the Palestinians,” he said, adding that Israel will continue to work with President Trump to “make that dream of peace come true.”

Ukraine is obviously a very unstable place. Corruption there is still ubiquitous. Car bombings are becoming frequent again. War simmers in the East. Strongmen control the strings of power. Criminal Investigations and stings, legitimate and corrupt, escalate in all directions.

Ukraine has even impacted the United States in a major way as the Mueller investigation rumbles on, indicting Paul Manafort for money laundering stemming from his consulting work for the Yanukovych government over the prior decade.

At the same time, in Washington Ukrainian politicians and expediters scramble to establish contacts with our State Department and political opinion leaders, tripping over each other and occasionally sparking controversies like the recent fake “congressional hearing” on Ukraine’s National Bank organized by unwitting American lobbyists duped by East European “consultants” that hired them.

Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of Ukraine’s continued political and economic death spiral is the continued impact of the former regime – the Yanukovych presidency. The regime stole billions from the Ukrainian people, money which is now safely ensconced in offshore financial jurisdictions, untouchable without a long legal fight, or maybe not at all. The Ukrainian government is, of course, trying to recover the assets.

However, a more interesting development is the use by the Yanukovych gang, exiled to Moscow, of criminal elements inside Ukraine to buy up strategic assets to further Moscow’s interests and stoke instability in Kyiv.

In recent months, a Russian ( and now Ukrainian) businessman by the name of Pavel or Pavlo Fuks has raised his profile provoking interest from Western media and renewed investigations by the law enforcement establishment of numerous countries, including the USA.

One such recent law enforcement inquiry reads in part, and I’m paraphrasing, Mr. Fuks is aligning himself with criminal figures in Ukraine and laundering Yanukovych assets into the country. The inquiry also states there are multiple criminal investigations opened on Mr. Fuks.

This development is interesting because Pavel Fuks has been accused by many in Ukrainian media of buying up strategic assets for Yanukovych and his cohorts hiding out in Russia, and controlled by Russian government. Obozrevatel, a Russian language publication, writes, “Ukraine is the main area of Fuks‘ business. His task is to use the money of the Russian criminal circles to buy out promising Ukrainian gas and oil fields, energy companies, and other tactical assets for his Russian friends.”

It appears that Pavel Fuks established a safety net for himself in Ukraine after leaving Moscow, and recently received numerous gas licenses in Ukraine, launched a public relations campaign in Ukraine and US, and had gotten all of the criminal investigations and charges against his companies and himself “erased”. During former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s recent visit to Ukraine’s city of Kharkiv, Pavel Fuks even managed to snap a photo with the famous American Mayor.

Mr. Fuks, born in the city of Kharkiv, was involved in the initial financing and development of the notorious “Moscow City” construction project in the Russian capital, attaining the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of MosCityGroup. To finance the planned mega development, Mr. Fuks allegedly borrowing money from Russian criminal syndicates.

However, after the financial crisis of 2008, the project floundered and Fuks could not handle the debt service, prompting him to flee to Ukraine where he reemerged as a low-level shill for the fugitive Yanukovych cabinet. Perhaps Russian influencers allowed him to flee and prosper in Ukraine because of his usefulness inside Ukraine for them or their FSB handlers.

Russia is comfortable with an unstable Ukraine, and would love to acquire certain financial and energy properties, to ensure the Kremlin can keep it that way. According to sources, Mr. Fuks is persona non-grata in Moscow but is useful in Kyiv.

It seems the Ukrainian government believes Yanukovych is using crooked businessmen as proxies to buy up businesses in Ukraine, where thugs and criminals can run off to Ukraine and find a business swampland they feel comfortable in. There they can reinvent themselves and thrive because it is easier to make pay offs, delete criminal investigations, and operate in a state of business and political chaos, where scams are easier to conceal.

As Ukraine descends into yet another morass of corruption, with another wave of Ukrainian politicians getting charged with graft, Kyiv is availing Russia of an opportunity to achieve its geopolitical goals. Ukraine is becoming a nation plagued by looming anarchy where criminal element reigns, which is the exact goal of the Kremlin.

We have been provided a list of alleged criminal cases that Mr. Fuks has paid others to make “go away” inside Ukraine. This raises the question of who inside the Ukraine law enforcement and judiciary establishment is getting paid for these ‘favors’? Is the Ukrainian government complicit?

As U.S. and European authorities look into Mr. Fuks‘ recent spate of financial activities, his business career in Russia tells a story of meteoric rise as a Moscow developer funded by nefarious interests and the Russian government, and subsequent collapse predicated on unpaid loans, breached agreements, unfinished projects, allegations of diverted funds, and sustained criminal affiliation.

Nevertheless, Mr. Fuks travels the world as he buys up Ukrainian enterprises on behalf of his Moscow based handlers. He visits US on a regular basis. In the recent several years he visited Florida, Washington and New York; he has a residences in Florida.

In a clever public relations move, Pavel Fuks is controlling and raising money for a fund to build a monument to the Jews killed by the Nazi regime at Babi Yar in Ukraine. Apparently, the goal is to raise $100 million. Mr. Fuks “penned” an Opinion Editorial this August in The Hill promoting his philanthropic endeavor.

With this man’s track record in managing money for construction and infrastructure projects, and his history of working with notorious criminal “investors,” why on Earth would Ukraine allow this to happen?

President Donald Trump in the Diplomatic Reception Room of the White House signs an order beginning the process of moving the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel to Jerusalem on December 6, 2017.

President Donald Trump made the historic announcement that the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv will move to Jerusalem to officially recognize it as the capital.

“I have determined that it is time to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel,” President Trump said during a speech in the Diplomatic Reception Room of the White House on Wednesday. “Jerusalem is not just the heart of three great religions, but it is now also the heart of one of the most successful democracies in the world.”

He said Israel “like every other sovereign nation has the right to determine its capital,” calling the decision “long overdue” and “the right thing to do.”

Before of the announcement Wednesday, President Trump on Tuesday spoke with Palestinian President Mahmood Abbas, Jordanian King Abdullah and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. While Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu praised the decision to move the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, Prime Minister Abbas warned of the “gravity of consequences” it will have on “the peace process and security and stability in the region and world.”

In January, roughly two weeks before Inauguration Day, Senators Ted Cruz, R-TX, Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and Dean Heller, R-Nev., introduced the Jerusalem Embassy and Recognition Act. It aimed to fulfill what was then a 21-year-old promise by the U.S. to Israel and came just 12 days after the Obama Administration abstained from a key U.N. Security Council vote condemning their ally for settlements in the West Bank.

President Trump and his administration have been much more pro-Israel than his predecessors. While the Obama Administration had been working with the United Nations (UN) against or to punish our key ally in the region, the Trump Administration has done just the opposite.

The ADP National Employment Report showed the U.S. private sector created 190,000 new jobs, beating the consensus forecast. Notable, the strong post-hurricane report for October was unrevised at 235,000.

“The job market is red hot, with broad-based job gains across industries and company sizes,” Mark Zandi, chief economist of Moody’s Analytics, said. “The only soft spots are in industries being disrupted by technology, brick-and-mortar retailing being the best example. There is a mounting threat that the job market will overheat next year.”

In a sign the U.S. economy (specifically the private sector) is beginning to return to normal reliance on higher-paying, job creation, small businesses (1 – 49 employees) added 50,000 jobs in the report. Mid-sized businesses with 50 – 499 employees added 99,000, while large businesses only added 41,000.

“The labor market continues to grow at a solid pace,” said Ahu Yildirmaz, vice president and co-head of the ADP Research Institute. “Notably, manufacturing added the most jobs the industry has seen all year. As the labor market continues to tighten and wages increase it will become increasingly difficult for employers to attract and retain skilled talent.”

Manufacturing added 40,000 jobs in November, the fastest pace all year and a good sign for wage increases. Overall, the goods-producing sector added 36,000 as construction sliced off 4,000 and natural resources and mining remained unchanged after finally showing growth this year for the first time in over 9 years.

Kate Steinle, right, was shot and killed on July 1, 2015 near San Francisco’s Pier 14 by Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez, left, who had been deported and allowed to return to the sanctuary city multiple times.

The Justice Department (DOJ) said a federal grand jury indicted Jose Inez Garcia-Zarate, the illegal immigrant who shot Kate Steinle. Zarate, previously known as Juan Francisco Lopez Sanchez, was a multiple felon who had been deported numerous times taking “sanctuary” in San Francisco.

The slaying of Ms. Steinle sparked a controversial national debate over crime committed on U.S. citizens by illegal immigrants. He was acquitted by a jury in the liberal city.

On Tuesday, DOJ said he was indicted for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and for being an illegally present alien in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

President Donald Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions slammed the “not guilty” jury verdict in the trial. The Trump Administration has been blocked by the courts for withholding funds to sanctuary cities, in a case that is ultimately headed to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Ms. Steinle was walking with her father and a family friend in July 2015 when she was shot, collapsing into her father’s arms and begging him for his help before she expired. Despite a federal detainer issued by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Zarate was released from a San Francisco jail about three months before the shooting.

Attorney General Sessions slammed San Francisco for not honoring the detainer from ICE.

“While the State of California sought a murder charge for the man who caused Ms. Steinle’s death—a man who would not have been on the streets of San Francisco if the city simply honored an ICE detainer—the people ultimately convicted him of felon in possession of a firearm,” he said.

ICE Deputy Director Tom Homan joined the attorney general in calling on officials who support and are responsible for sanctuary cities to reverse course. In a statement following the verdict, he vowed to deport Zarate.

“San Francisco’s policy of refusing to honor ICE detainers is a blatant threat to public safety and undermines the rule of law,” he said. “This tragedy could have been prevented if San Francisco had simply turned the alien over to ICE, as we requested, instead of releasing him back onto the streets.”

According to the federal indictment, on July 1, 2015, Garcia-Zarate, a 47 year-old citizen of Mexico “possessed a semi-automatic pistol and multiple rounds of ammunition in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1) (felon in possession of a firearm) and 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(5) (unlawfully present alien in possession of a firearm).”

Assistant United States Attorneys Hallie Hoffman and Shiao Lee are prosecuting this case.

Meanwhile, President Trump made cracking down on illegal immigration the centerpiece of his campaign. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Tuesday released end-of-year statistics for immigration enforcement for Fiscal Year (FY) 2017, and the report shows historic success during the first year of his administration. The report blasted the policy of sanctuary cities, which they repeatedly referred to as a dangerous “loopholes,” and the officials who run them.

“These results are proof of what the men and women of ICE can accomplish when they are empowered to fulfill their mission,” said Thomas Homan, ICE Deputy Director. “We need to confront and address misguided policies and loopholes that only serve as a pull factor for illegal immigration… Finally, we need to find a solution to the dangerous sanctuary city policies and the politicians who needlessly risk innocent lives to protect criminals who are illegally present in the United States.”

According to a recent poll, 58% want the federal government should cut off funds to cities that provide sanctuary for illegal immigrants, while just 32% disagreed and 10% said they were not sure. Further, 62% of likely voters said the Department of Justice (DOJ) should take legal action against cities that provide sanctuary for illegal immigrants.
