Talking scandal: The latest on Benghazi, spying on the press, the IRS, and a bonus topic — the end of the war on terror

In recent weeks, the White House has been under siege from all sides for its stewardship of the nation’s executive authority. The Obama administration has been accused of eavesdropping on journalists, of unfairly targeting conservative nonprofits, and of botching (and belatedly trying to cover up) national security crises.

Ann Lorenz relies on Medicare, as do most seniors to meet her health care needs, including Parkinson’s Disease. Ann sees a number of doctors and depends on a variety of prescription drugs and therapies to stay independent. She worries that Obamacare threatens her access to doctors, treatment options and insurance plans – and her neurologist speaks out against Medicare’s future under Obamacare as well.

Neal McCluskey, of the CATO Institute, is right to say that government-funded aid for college tuition is right for politicians and their academic friends, not students. College tuition has absolutely skyrocketed side-by-side with the increase in government spending on college tuition assistance programs. This is deja vu all over again. McCluskey recently wrote:

The IRS scandal is heating up to a serious temperature. Interviews with a regional IRS agent involved in the agency targeting Tea Party groups for additional scrutiny contradict the White House assertion that “so-called” rogue agents, and not the Obama administration, were behind the effort.

As it has been for many weeks now, voters trust Republicans more than Democrats when it comes to handling the economy, which is the issue they still consider most important to their vote – 80% said “very important.” However, and this is very good news for the GOP, for the first time since Election Day the GOP has regained the trust advantage on the majority of major issues.

The newly released IRS dance video has already begun to raise the disgust for the IRS to a whole new level. This time the heat is coming down on the agency not for despotically targeting groups and individuals who oppose the president’s ideology, but for getting its groove on to the “Cupid Shuffle” on the taxpayers’ dime.
