Politics, By The Numbers

It would appear that Chris Matthews has forgotten what it feels like to get that tingle down his leg. On Hardball, he took President Obama to task for being “reactive” instead of proactive, lacking “forceful leadership” that natural leaders have. Ironically, both Matthews and Washington Post chump Dana Milbank, used President Bush as an example of real leadership.
President George W. Bush cautioned against criticizing gay couples, saying in an interview on “This Week” that you shouldn’t criticize others “until you’ve examined your own heart.” He also weighed in on immigration, the NSA scandal – which he defended – and President Obama’ handling of the whole ordeal.
In the latest CNN News poll President Barack Obama’s approval rating dropped 8% over the past month to 45%, which the lowest rating CNN has found in more than a year and a half. Inside the numbers, however, the poll is a disaster for more than just President Obama’s approval rating, but rather for the Democratic philosophy of big government.
Former president George W. Bush’s approval rating has improved, with 49% of Americans now viewing him favorably and 46% unfavorably. That is the first time since 2005 that opinions of him have been more positive than negative.

Commentary From The Blogger: President Obama, in an effort to distract from the recent trifecta of scandal, delivered a foreign policy speech just one day after a British soldier was just about decapitated a few yards from his post in broad daylight. In passing, the soldier leaves a young wife alone with their 2 year-old son; however, President Obama denies a War on Terror – if that is even a proper understanding – so there is no wonder that the American people felt much safer from Islam under President Bush than they do Barack Obama.
