Texas Senator Ted Cruz said on “The Mark Levin Show” it was more likely Jeff Sessions would be confirmed as Attorney General after the Senate confirmation hearing Tuesday.

“I’m very encouraged. I think the hearing went very well. I think Jeff Sessions did a terrific job and I think for anyone watching who is fair and objective, the only conclusion you could have coming out of that hearing is that this is a man who has integrity; is going to follow the law.”

Sen. Cruz not only defended Sen. Session’s character, but tore into Democrats who oppose him and turned a blind eye to the politicization of the Department of Justice during the prior 8 years under Barack Obama. He noted in talking to Levin, who also used to work for the DoJ under President Ronald Reagan, the Justice Department “had a wonderful tradition” of remaining non-partisan.

“The Obama Justice Department devastated that tradition,” Sen. Cruz added. “We don’t want to end up with a right-wing partisan, we want someone who is going to follow the law.”
